This is a new section and new teams at under 14's and under 17's levels.
Thank you for choosing to play rugby with us here at Llantwit Fardre RFC. Our aim as a club is to become a more community based club with our current selection of teams from various age groups within the Mini and Junior section and now with the introduction of 2 ladies sides at Under 14 and Under 17 Level. We also have a Youth side and two senior sides, with our youth having a great season last year and some of that side now moving up to senior rugby this coming season.
We are looking to progress the formation of the ladies sides as the season goes along, with us getting the ladies registered with the Welsh Women’s Rugby Union so we can then attend regional skills days. These skills days are to be held once a month and will be a good way to meet other sides and hopefully get some playing time as we have now been training since July.
I would like to now introduce myself as the coach, my name is Mark Edmunds usually known within the club as Zotty. I have recently completed my Level 1 Coaching course to have the knowledge to help the ladies and also due to the fact that I gave up playing a few years ago. I was involved as a First Aider with the youth side last year and I have continued in this role this season. I do have some coaching experience after helping out the boys Under 13 side back in 1992, seems like a lifetime ago. We are getting help from the Mini & Junior section along with other individuals within the club, which is appreciated.
